They’re back! Lockable full chrome caps for classic cars
After years of being asked “can you supply full chrome petrol caps for classic vehicles?”, it was clear there was a market for a lockable full-chrome cap.
So after talking with classic car owners, clubs and magazine editors, we started the journey by designing a cap to fit a range of classic vehicles including pre-1948 models.
But, designing the cap is one thing, manufacturing to the highest of standards is another.
Italian manufacturing delivers on quality
We knew there was only one manufacture we trusted to take-on this project. So, working together with our manufacturing partner (Farma Srl) in Italy, the initial design was developed in to a working prototype.
After months of fine-tuning, the partnership finally delivered a chrome lockable petrol cap that met the aethetic requirements of classic car owners and the build quality of a modern-day OEM fuel cap.
A multi-stage manufacturing process
The base metal used is Zamak. This helps the cap adhere to strict quality control processes and EU manufacturing standards.
All our classic range caps undergo a multi-stage process that includes; alkaline copper, acid copper, bright nickel and chromium plating. It’s this process that is often found lacking in similar grey-imported goods.
A successful partnership between two family businesses
Farma Srl (often referred to as Farma Group) is a well-established Italian company based near Bologna, Italy. The company was founded in 1975 and has built a reputation for precision, innovation and delivering high-quality standards in the industrial vehicle sector.
Farma Group specialise in the design and manufacture of refuelling systems and components for; fuel, urea, oil and water tanks.
